7.2 IPEC Core Competencies
The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) established standard core competencies for effective interprofessional collaborative practice. The competencies guide the education of future health professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to collaboratively work together in providing client care. See Table 7.2 for a description of the four IPEC core competencies.[1] Each of these competencies will be further discussed in the following sections of this chapter.
Table 7.2. IPEC Core Competencies[2]

Competency 4: Teams and Teamwork Apply relationship-building values and the principles of team dynamics to perform effectively in different team roles to plan, deliver, and evaluate client/population-centered care and population health programs and policies that are safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable. |
