Staffing

Tutoring Services is primarily staffed by full-time and part-time professional staff members with degrees and/or specializations in areas in which they provide support. The department also employs a limited number of peer tutors, who are students who have demonstrated master of content in the subject areas in which they tutor. To facilitate their ability to provide high-quality academic support to students, tutors participate in ongoing professional development that includes discipline-specific training and pedagogy. FSCJ has received the College Learning and Reading Association’s Level 1 certification for its tutor training program, and all staff are required to complete this training upon hire.
