Accessibility Features in the Online Tutoring Platform
There are a number of accessibility features in the Brainfuse online tutoring platform to aid students in interacting with the system. A detailed document that outlines the online platform’s accessibility features can be found on the Tutoring Services Web .
Hearing Impairments
Students who have hearing impairments may opt to communicate with the tutor via the chat feature in the system when they are using either the Live Help (Brainfuse’s tutors) or the Tutor Match (FSCJ’s tutors) features. If the student needs to invite an interpreter to accompany them to a session, the student should schedule a Tutor Match appointment with one of FSCJ’s tutors. The tutor may then invite the student and an interpreter to use the screensharing feature in the system so that the interpreter can communicate with the student via sign language to assist with information exchange. Captioning is provided for all pre-recorded Brainfuse content. Captioning is not available for live session interactions.
Visual Impairments
Students who have visual impairments and need assistance with booking either campus-based or online tutoring appointments may call a staff member at the Library Services desk of each Library and Tutoring Services location for assistance. The phone numbers for each service desk are noted below:
