About the Authors

Dr. Barnet D. Feingold is the creator of Critical Belief Analysis. While the co-authors collaborated on all aspects of this book, Dr. Feingold was the primary author of Chapters 2 to 6. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. He served as a clinical psychologist with the Veterans Health Administration for over three decades. During his V.A. career, he served as a clinician, program director, program designer, administrator, director of psychology training, research supervisor, and ethics consultant. After retiring from the V.A., he served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Education at Shepherd University. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he now resides in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Dr. Michael W. Collier assisted in adapting Critical Belief Analysis for use in security studies. He was the primary author of Chapters 1 and 7. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations, majoring in Foreign Policy and Security Studies, from Florida International University. A graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, his first career was as a U.S. Coast Guard officer specializing in offshore cutter operations and with a sub-specialty in intelligence. He holds a Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence from the U.S. Defense Intelligence College (now National Intelligence University). After a second career in academia, he retired as an Associate Professor of Homeland Security at Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to several academic administrative positions, he was co-director of the Bluegrass State Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence, a federally funded, multi-university consortium tasked with preparing the next generation of national security and intelligence professionals. Originally from Higginsville, Missouri, he now resides in Williamsburg, Virginia.
