Materials Supporting Accredited Programs

Collections supporting accredited programs should be developed and closely reviewed in collaboration with departmental faculty and program leaders to ensure that these collections meet applicable accreditation standards.

It is recommended that review for accreditation begin one to two years prior to the self-study process.

See the current FSCJ Program Accreditation Schedule for a complete list of programs and accreditation timelines.

Documentation supporting accreditation reviews may include:

  • Narrative descriptions of facilities, staffing, technology, services, and hours of operation.
  • Reserve materials supporting program curriculum.
  • Circulating collections supporting program subject areas.
  • Electronic resources, including databases, eBooks, streaming media, and LibGuides.
  • Journal access relevant to program disciplines.
  • Expenditures and budget allocations supporting program resources.
  • Evidence of collaboration between Library personnel and academic programs regarding collection development decisions.

Depending on the program, additional resources may include software applications, equipment, models, charts, special collections, or other specialized materials.

See Appendix D: Accredited Program Collection Support Resources.
