Paper 1:

Based on your readings and the films you watched, write a short paper (2 to 3 pages double-spaced + Works Cited) to explain your understanding of Israeli and Jewish food culture(s) in connection to the creation and construction of an Israeli national identity and nation-building.

Use at least one film and at least one reading (but no more than 2 films and 2 readings). Your introductory paragraph should introduce the readings and films you are analyzing in your journal, as well as your thesis statement (what you are arguing). You can discuss more than one sub-topic.
