The 2025 I3M & CTSRM abstracts push the boundaries of thermal science and manikin testing.

Full description

The abstracts submitted to the 2025 13th International Manikin & Modelling Meeting (I3M) and the 1st Clothing and Textile Sciences Research Meeting (CTSRM) showcase a diverse and forward-thinking body of work at the intersection of textiles, human performance, and innovation. Presenters from universities, government labs, and industry leaders around the world are advancing knowledge in thermal manikin testing, protective clothing, biomechanics, sustainability, and next-generation material development. Topics span from firefighter and military PPE, infant and occupational comfort, and phase-change cooling garments to PFAS-free outdoor apparel, advanced computational modeling, and glove dexterity in wet conditions. Collectively, these studies illustrate how cutting-edge research in textiles and apparel can improve safety, enhance performance, and drive innovation across sportswear, footwear, and protective equipment, reflecting the conference’s role as a global platform for translating scientific discovery into real-world impact.
