Faculty Librarian Discipline Council
The Faculty Librarian Discipline Council provides operational planning, coordination, communication, implementation, and assessment of the Library's instructional and reference services. The Council serves as a forum for communication between faculty librarians and Library Administration regarding opportunities, concerns, and issues affecting Library services.
Membership
- Full-time faculty librarians from each campus serve as permanent voting members.
- Voting members elect a Council Chair for a one-year term beginning in July.
- A committee representative serves as a voting member of the Council.
- Part-time and adjunct librarians, as well as Library administrators, may participate in meetings as non-voting members as scheduling permits.
Operating Procedures and Meeting Schedule
- The Faculty Librarian Discipline Council meets monthly and as needed.
- The Council Chair develops meeting agendas and maintains meeting minutes.
Official Record
- Minutes of each meeting shall be recorded and shall focus on informational and action items.
- Meeting minutes shall be forwarded to the Library and Tutoring Services Council for review.
- An online archive of meeting agendas and minutes shall be maintained in coordination with the Office of the Executive Dean of Library and Tutoring Services.
