Copyright

Library personnel shall comply with all copyright and intellectual property procedures established by College policy. (See Appendix 1, Administrative Procedure Manual (APM) 02-0210: Intellectual Property and Copyright.)

FSCJ Library and Tutoring Services adheres to the provisions of United States Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code), including the Fair Use provisions outlined in Section 107. Students, faculty, and staff are expected to respect the intellectual property rights of authors, artists, publishers, and creators of books, articles, music, images, audiovisual materials, software, and other copyrighted works.

Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use of copyrighted materials may violate federal law and College policy. Copyright notices should be displayed on Library copying, scanning, and printing equipment to remind users of their rights and responsibilities under copyright law.

Intellectual Freedom

The Library supports intellectual freedom, academic inquiry, and the open exchange of ideas. In support of the College's educational mission, the Library provides access to resources representing a broad range of viewpoints, scholarly perspectives, and subjects that support teaching, learning, research, and lifelong learning.

The Library acknowledges the principles expressed in the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights and Freedom to Read Statement as guiding documents for professional library practice, while operating in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, College policies, and educational objectives.
