Creating a New Project

This guide walks you through the steps of entering Admin Mode in Manifold in order to Create a Project.

Enter Admin Mode

First, go to The OEN Manifold homepage and log in. Click on the “Enter Admin Mode” button in the upper right hand corner (If you do not see the “Enter Admin Mode” button, please review the Request an Account form).

Create a New Project

This is your Dashboard in the Backend of Manifold – you will always know when you are in the backend because the screen will go dark. To create a new Project click the “Add a New Project” button.

Title and Description

In the next screen enter a title, a subtitle, and a brief description (all these can be changed later). At this point all you need to create a Project is a title.

Choose Content Blocks

Scroll down the screen to the Layout section and select Yes or No to the following four Content Block options: Texts, Resources, Extended Description, and Activity (these can all be changed later). If you are not sure what you need at this point, don’t worry, select yes to all and then click “Save and Continue.”

Project Backend

This is the backend of your Project. You will return to this page whenever you want to edit your Project. On this page, you can add, modify or delete all areas of your Project: Properties, Layout, Access, People, Texts, Resources, Resource Collections, Metadata, and Social Integrations.

Add users from your institution/organization to your project

As the Admin/Project Creator for your institution/organization you will be responsible for adding other users to projects. Please ensure your users have first created an account on the OEN Manifold instance homepage. To add users to your project select Access from the left-side menu. Then click "+ Grant Editor Permissions" and select the User and appropriate levels of permissions.

Publish Your Project

By default all Projects are in Draft mode until the creator wishes to make them public. To Publish, or make your Project public and visible to others select Properties from the left-side menu, scroll down to the Presentation section and toggle the Draft Mode slider to off. Click the “Save Project” button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
