Scanning in Professional Mode

When you select Professional Mode, you see the Epson Scan Professional Mode window.

  1. Place your page face down on the document table. Make sure the entire page is on the glass. Place the top corner of the original against the upper right corner of the glass.
  2. Click on the EPSON Scan Icon on the desktop to open the scanning software
  3. The scanning menu should be displaying as pictured here. If not, choose Professional Mode in the dropdown menu in the upper right.
  4. Check to make sure that the settings match the choices indicated to the right. If not, adjust before scanning.
  5. To begin scanning, click the preview button. The Epson will read the page, and the preview window will display.
  6. In the preview window, check to see that the image is clear and draw a dotted line box around the edges of the original. This is what the software will scan.

  1. Back in the scanning menu, click on the file icon to check the file where the scans will be saved.

  1. Check to see that the file naming and location match those assigned to your project. Ask a staff member, it you aren’t sure what to call the file or where to save it. The software usually auto saves to a location and continues to use the same file naming convention throughout your scanning session.
  2. Click the scan button to scan the page to the assigned file location. The scanner will read the page one more time. As long as the page did not move after you selected it in the preview, the page should show as a clear JPG in the scan folder.
  3. If the scan does not show up in the destination folder (or it is not the quality or size expected), restart the scanning process from step 1
  4. Always feel free to ask a staff member for advice on where to save scans, what to call files, or any special concerns you have about page size, fragile items, or other more complicated pieces to your original items.
  5. Continue saving the scan images as jpg images by repeating this process for each page. When all of the pages in the item are completely scanned, talk to a staff member about the next step in the project.
